Matt Lambert of Laclede, Missouri, has been elected as the new chairman of the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council (MCMC). Lambert succeeds Brent Hoerr, who is now the president of the MCMC.
Lambert has a long history of service to the Missouri corn industry. He has previously served as the MCMC vice chairman, secretary, and treasurer. He has also served as the Missouri Corn Growers Association secretary and treasurer.
In addition to his service at the state level, Lambert has also volunteered his time at the national level with the National Corn Growers Association Stewardship Action Team and the U.S. Grains Council Trade Policy Advisory Team.
Lambert is excited to take on his new role as MCMC chairman. He says that one of his top priorities is to work with partners like the U.S. Grains Council to increase demand for corn, ethanol, and distillers grains both domestically and internationally.
"There's a growing opportunity to highlight the work farmers are doing to improve practices and sustainability," Lambert said. "By sharing those practices, MCMC is opening new doors for our products."
Lambert is also committed to promoting corn markets in Missouri and across the globe. He says that even though Missouri is a diverse state, all corn growers have one main goal in common: to grow markets for the nation's top crop.
Lambert and his team have some big priorities ahead of them, but they are confident that they can continue to serve the Missouri corn industry well.
