Missouri Rice Harvest Nearing Completion



There were 6.9 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending Sunday. Temperatures last week averaged 51.4 degrees, 3.4 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 0 inches, 0.79 inches below normal. Topsoil moisture supply rated 51 percent very short, 34 percent short, and 15 percent adequate. Subsoil moisture supply rated 42 percent very short, 39 percent short, and 19 percent adequate.

Corn mature was 98 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 100 percent. Corn harvested was 78 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 73 percent. Soybeans dropping leaves was 98 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 92 percent.

Soybeans harvested was 59 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 42 percent. Soybeans condition rated 5 percent very poor, 10 percent poor, 26 percent fair, 52 percent good and 7 percent excellent.

Cotton harvested was 55 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 54 percent. Cotton condition rated 6 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 28 percent fair, 57 percent good, and 3 percent excellent.

Rice harvested was 97 percent compared to the 5-year average of 89 percent.

Winter wheat planted was 51 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 44 percent. Winter wheat emerged was 18 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 25.
