Recertify your pesticide license in MO

Recertify your pesticide license in MO

By Blake Jackson

Commercial pesticide applicators in Missouri can recertify their licenses for three years by taking virtual training classes offered by the University of Missouri Extension. The classes are also useful as a review for those who wish to become certified, but certification exams are still required.

The training covers the CORE and category-specific topics that applicators need to know. Classes are offered on eight days in January 2024, with a follow-up day in February and March.

Missouri's new pesticide licensing rules and program are scheduled to take effect in 2025, but applicators can still recertify under the current program this year. This will allow them to recertify for the next three years before the new rules go into effect.

Dates and topics are as follows:

  • January 9-25: General structure, termite, fumigation, wood products, ag plant, ag animal, seed treatment, forest, aquatic and public health, ornamental turf, right of way, right of way
  • February 13: Ag plant, ornamental/turf, right of way, general structure and termite
  • March 14: Ag plant, ornamental/turf, right of way, general structure and termite
