Missouri farmers harvest progresses despite dry conditions

Missouri farmers made good progress on harvesting corn, soybeans, and cotton last week, despite below-normal rainfall. Farmers were able to take advantage of the mild weather to get ahead on their fieldwork.

Corn harvest is nearly complete, with 94 percent of the crop harvested. Soybean and cotton harvests are also well underway, with 91 percent and 93 percent of the crops harvested, respectively.

Winter wheat planting is also progressing well, with 85 percent of the crop planted. Wheat emergence is also ahead of schedule, with 65 percent of the crop emerged. Wheat condition is generally good, with 56 percent of the crop rated good and 9 percent rated excellent.

Overall, Missouri farmers are making good progress on their harvest and winter wheat planting. The mild weather conditions have been favorable for fieldwork, and farmers are taking advantage of this opportunity to get ahead.
