The University of Missouri Extension in Dade County will host the 101st Dade County Soil and Crop Conference on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lockwood Methodist Church Life Center, located at 410 Main Street in Lockwood, MO.
This annual event offers valuable insights for livestock and forage producers and is open to the public at no cost.
Registration begins at 4:30 PM, followed by a series of informative sessions. Caleb O’Neal, MUE Agronomist, will discuss frost seeding legumes to enhance pastures at 5:00 PM. At 5:45 PM, Ian McGregor, MUE Livestock Specialist, will cover strategies for optimizing cattle performance on fescue.
A meal provided by Hillbilly Express BQ of Dadeville will be served at 6:30 PM, along with updates on agricultural events in the region. The final session at 7:00 PM features Carson Roberts, MUE State Specialist in Forage Agronomy, who will share techniques for managing sorghum-sudangrass.
