Matt Lambert, a corn farmer from Laclede, Missouri, has assumed the role of president of the Missouri Corn Growers Association (MCGA). Lambert succeeds Brent Hoerr of Palmyra, Missouri.
Lambert has been actively involved in the MCGA, serving as secretary/treasurer and chairman, vice chairman, secretary, and treasurer of the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council.
He has also represented corn farmers nationally, volunteering his time with the National Corn Growers Association Trade/Transportation/Animal Ag Action Team and the U.S. Grains Council Trade Policy Advisory Team.
“There are a lot of challenges facing corn farmers right now,” noted Lambert. “From a pivotal election and new farm bill to increasing input costs, there’s no shortage of work to tackle. Luckily, while we’re busy in the field harvesting, the Missouri Corn Growers Association is actively advocating on our behalf.”
“I look forward to the year ahead and representing growers across the state when it comes to issues facing Missouri’s corn industry,” Lambert continued. “I want to thank Brent for his service and the entire board for the time they spend away from the farm to ensure grower voices are heard.”
The Missouri Corn Growers Association is a grassroots organization dedicated to enhancing the profitability of corn production through sound policies, market development, and active political engagement.
