Northwest Missouri State University and BioSTL, a group from St. Louis, are planning a special event: the “Innovation Day” on August 24.
This event, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., will be at Northwest's big Farm Learning Center in Maryville. BioSTL started in 2001. They work on big changes in farming, health, and tech.
One of their programs, the Early Adopter Grower Innovation Community (EAGIC), brings new ideas to farmers. They use groups from here and other countries to find the best ways to help farmers.
At the event, people can learn from many farm experts. These include new companies and old ones. Some of the companies coming are The Growers App, AgroScout, and EarthScout.
Dr. Rod Barr, the leader of Northwest’s Farm School, said, "We're happy to work with BioSTL. It's great that new farm companies can show their ideas to our community."
Northwest’s Farm School does a lot for students. It is in the Dean L. Hubbard Center for Innovation. The school teaches many farm topics. They have a new, big Learning Center that covers 29,500 square feet.
It's next to a big 448-acre farm. This farm has many animals and plants, which helps students learn by doing.
The “Innovation Day” is a big deal. It shows the new things happening in farming and asks people to join in.
