Soybeans celebrate with Santa and cookies

By Blake Jackson

Missouri Soybeans hosted a successful "Santa at Soy" event last week at their Center for Soy Innovation (CFSI), raising over 750 non-perishable food items for the Central Missouri Food Bank. This inaugural holiday event served to give back to the community and showcase the versatility of Missouri's soybean industry.

Attendees, including nearly 200 families, enjoyed festive activities like taking photos with Santa and indulging in homemade chocolate chip soy cookies. The highlight for many was the opportunity to explore the CFSI and learn about various applications of soy through an engaging tour.

"Serving others, especially during the holiday season, is a core value of our organization," said Gary Wheeler, CEO and Executive Director of Missouri Soybeans. "This event allowed us to support the Jefferson City community and educate visitors about the incredible potential of soy."

Baylee Asbury, Director of Outreach and Education at Missouri Soybeans, expressed their delight at the event's success. "Santa at Soy provided a unique platform to celebrate the holidays while showcasing the Center for Soy Innovation and its role in fostering sustainable solutions and economic development through soy."

With its commitment to advancing soy utilization and collaboration, the Center for Soy Innovation stands as a valuable resource for the community and a testament to the positive impact of Missouri's soybean industry.
