MCA Recognizes Top Membership Recruiters
Missouri Ag Connection - 01/18/2021

The Missouri Cattlemen's Association recognized individuals - known as Top Hands - who recruited nearly 605 new members in 2020. Top Hands received recognition today during the 53rd Annual Missouri Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show in Osage Beach.

The top membership recruiter in 2020, recruiting 38 new members, was Butch Meier from Jackson, Missouri. For his efforts, Meier receives a trip to the Cattle Industry Convention and National Cattlemen's Beef Association Trade Show in Nashville, Tenn. Ronald Rogers, Anderson, Mo., was the second-overall recruiter, bringing in 32 new members, and Greg Buckman, Hallsville, Mo., was the third-overall, bringing in 24 new members. They will receive a Proud Member Sign and 2022 Missouri Cattle Industry Convention Package.

MCA members received prizes based on the number of new members they recruited. Ten first level top hands received an MCA pocket knife for recruiting three to four new members. Seven second-level recruiters brought in five to nine new members and received a MCA farm sign. Two recruiters signed up 10 or more members and received a large farm sign.

"MCA is glad to present these top hands with an incentive," MCA Manager of Membership Sydney Thummel said. "Recruiting almost 600 new members in one year is a great accomplishment for our association, especially given the challenges of the past year."

The county affiliate bringing in the most new members was the Newton-McDonald County Cattlemen's Association, recruiting 30 members. The affiliate received a $500 gift card from LAG Industries.
