The Missouri Corn Growers Association (MCGA) has thrown its support behind Sen. Lincoln Hough for the position of lieutenant governor in the upcoming 2024 statewide election. As a prominent voice for corn farmers statewide, MCGA backs candidates who have a track record of supporting policies beneficial to the corn-growing community.
Brent Hoerr, President of MCGA and a corn farmer from Palmyra, praised Sen. Hough for his unwavering advocacy for farmers and his deep roots in agriculture. Sen. Hough's own experience as a farmer, having established a successful cattle business over two decades ago, underscores his commitment to agriculture beyond mere political considerations.
Hoerr emphasized that Sen. Hough's dedication to the well-being of agriculture and the state sets him apart as a deserving candidate for the lieutenant governorship.
Sen. Hough's support for corn, ethanol, and transportation initiatives in the State Capitol earned him recognition from MCGA, including the prestigious 2023 Public Servant Award. Additionally, MCGA has also endorsed another farmer, current Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe, in the gubernatorial race.
Expressing gratitude for MCGA's endorsement, Sen. Hough reiterated his belief in the fundamental importance of agriculture to Missouri's prosperity. He emphasized the need for hard work, determination, and innovation to ensure the industry's success in the modern era.
Established in 1978, MCGA remains committed to advocating for policies that protect farmer-members' rights, cultivate new markets for corn, and foster collaborative partnerships within and beyond the agricultural sector.
