Missouri's Clean Water Engineering Report Grant program is giving New Haven a boost! The city has been awarded $50,000 to assess its wastewater system.
This grant helps communities cover engineering costs associated with evaluating and improving water and wastewater systems. New Haven plans to use the funds to identify necessary upgrades to ensure continued reliable service, meet permit regulations, and minimize stormwater infiltration. The project aims to complete a comprehensive facility plan by September 2025.
"This grant allows smaller communities like New Haven to address crucial wastewater infrastructure needs," said Dru Buntin, director of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. "By supporting these projects, we're helping Missouri communities enhance water quality and improve the lives of their residents."
The Department of Natural Resources is dedicated to assisting Missouri communities with water and wastewater infrastructure improvements. Their Financial Assistance Center offers funding opportunities for qualified communities facing water quality, wastewater, and drinking water infrastructure challenges. This specific project receives partial funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
