Fenwick Starts Term on ASTM International Board

Clean Fuels Alliance America announced Scott Fenwick, technical director, has begun a three-year term on the ASTM International board of directors. The 25-member board, which consists of leaders from companies, associations, universities, government bodies and other organizations around the world, integrates consensus standards to positively impact public health and safety.

"This is an opportunity to showcase the advantages of clean fuels to the global marketplace," Fenwick said.

Fenwick previously served as chairman of the ASTM International committee on petroleum products, liquid fuels and lubricants. He also serves as a member of gasoline and middle distillates working groups at the Canadian General Standards Board, and he is the U.S. Technical Advisory Group head of delegation for two petroleum groups in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Clean Fuels CEO Donnell Rehagen acknowledged that in order to compete in today's increasingly complex world of fuels and engine technologies, fuel producers must be committed to quality practices across the board. Standards are constantly changing to offer better, cleaner fuels to the marketplace that is increasingly demanding lower carbon options.

"Our industry has demonstrated its commitment to higher standards for decades," Rehagen said. "That commitment continues today and into the future and having Scott serve on the international board of directors of ASTM is a testament to that commitment as well as his expertise and reputation. I join the members of our industry in congratulating and thanking Scott for this appointment and his dedication to fuel quality, not just for our industry, but for all fuels around the world."

Fenwick spent nearly 25 years in the fuel inspection industry before joining Clean Fuels Alliance America in 2013. He is responsible for coordinating the original engine manufacturer (OEM) and fuel quality programs under Clean Fuels.
