How the Hay Directory Can Help Livestock Producers

How the Hay Directory Can Help Livestock Producers

The Missouri Department of Agriculture, under the leadership of Director Chris Chinn, announces significant improvements to its online Hay Directory, providing valuable assistance to livestock producers facing the challenges of an extensive drought.

The directory, managed by the Department, facilitates the buying and selling of hay among producers in Missouri and other states.

Producers can now access a user-friendly platform with county or state filtering for hay sources in specific regions. The List Your Hay section offers filtering options like hay type, bale type, bale weight, and unit, enabling producers to identify the necessary hay for livestock well-being.

The MDA Hay Directory is regularly maintained by Department staff, ensuring that the information remains accurate and up-to-date. Sellers can even provide lab analysis results, enabling buyers to make more informed decisions about their hay purchases.

During this challenging period of drought, the Missouri Department of Agriculture is determined to support livestock producers by providing essential resources. By enhancing the Hay Directory, they are streamlining the process of finding and listing hay, fostering better connections between buyers and sellers, and ultimately helping to ensure that livestock have access to much-needed feed.
