The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC), in collaboration with Lincoln University, will host a free educational workshop on invasive species identification and management on Saturday, September 6, in Jefferson City. The program will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lincoln University’s Carver Farm.
The workshop is designed to help landowners, farmers, and community members better recognize invasive plants commonly found in Missouri and understand the impact these species have on the environment.
In addition to identification, participants will learn about practical control and management strategies to protect native ecosystems.
A portion of the program will also focus on herbicide selection and safe application methods, providing attendees with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions when managing invasive species on their property.
This free event is open to the public, but registration is required. Interested participants can sign up online at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/4Fu.
