Gardeners and small-scale farmers are invited to a free hands-on workshop designed to teach the essentials of low tunnel gardening.
This informative session will be held on June 16, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the North County Agricultural Education Center, located at 4521 Hamilton Ave., St. Louis, MO 63120.
Participants will gain valuable knowledge about using low tunnels to extend the growing season, improve crop productivity, and protect plants from harsh weather and pests.
Whether you're tending a home garden or managing a small farm, this workshop will equip you with the skills to maximize your harvest.
Topics include the benefits of low tunnels for year-round production, recommended materials and building methods, effective temperature and moisture control, and ideal crops for tunnel use. Attendees will leave with practical strategies they can implement immediately.
The event is free and open to the public. It is presented in partnership with A Red Circle and supported by Tony Rushing. For more information, contact Karen Funkenbusch at 573-884-1268 or funkenbuschk@umsystem.edu.
