Calling all Missouri livestock producers! Looking to boost your profits through efficient forage management? The University of Missouri Extension and its partners are offering a 3-day Management Intensive Grazing School designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to succeed.

This intensive program will be held May 7th-9th at the Forest Park Building in Appleton City, MO. Running from 9 am to 4:30 pm each day, the school covers a wide range of topics applicable to all grazing animals, with a focus on cattle.

Here's a taste of what you'll learn:

  • Grazing Strategies: Master the art and science of grazing to optimize pasture use.
  • Soil & Forage Management: Understand the importance of healthy soil and plant growth for top-quality forage.
  • Fencing & Water Systems: Learn to set up efficient systems for your livestock's needs.
  • Matching Resources: Balance your animal numbers with available forage for optimal results.
  • Grazing System Design: Design a grazing system that maximizes efficiency and profitability.
  • Financial Benefits: Explore the economic advantages of management-intensive grazing.

The program includes not only classroom learning but also hands-on field exercises and a tour of successful grazing operations. Attending this school fulfills the requirement for cost-share funding from the Missouri Soil and Water Conservation District for grazing system development.

Registration closes May 2nd! The fee is $200 per person, with a discounted rate of $100 for additional attendees from the same farm (materials not needed). This fee covers all course materials, lunches, and refreshments.

Don't miss this valuable opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills to take your livestock operation to the next level. Register today for the Management Intensive Grazing School!
