Missouri Corn and Soybeans on Target with Averages



There were 2.6 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending Sunday. Precipitation averaged 1.09 inches, 0.01 inch below normal. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 1 percent short, 76 percent adequate and 23 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 2 percent short, 85 percent adequate, and 13 percent surplus.

Corn planted was 91 percent complete, compared to the 5-year average of 89 percent. Corn emerged was 76 percent compared to the 5-year average of 80 percent. Corn condition was rated at 1 percent very poor, 3 percent poor, 19 percent fair, 70 percent good, and 7 percent excellent.

Soybeans planted was 52 percent complete, compared to the 5-year average of 49 percent. Soybeans emerged was 31 percent compared to the 5-year average of 33 percent.

Cotton planted was at 93 percent compared to the 5-year average of 77 percent. Cotton condition was rated at 8 percent very poor, 13 percent poor, 18 percent fair, and 61 percent good.

Rice planted was 90 percent, even with the 5-year average. Rice emerged was 64 percent compared to the 5-year average of 79 percent. Rice condition was rated 9 percent poor, 30 percent fair, 57 percent good and 4 percent excellent.

Winter wheat headed was 95 percent, even with the 5-year average. Winter wheat condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 3 percent poor, 27 percent fair, 61 percent good and 8 percent excellent.
