Missouri corn sprouts $7K for future farmers

Missouri corn sprouts $7K for future farmers

By Blake Jackson

Calling all future stewards of Missouri's cornfields! The Missouri Corn Growers Association and Missouri Corn Merchandising Council are offering seven $1,000 scholarships in 2024 to high school seniors and college juniors passionate about agronomy and related agricultural fields.

"Education is the fertilizer that nourishes our industry," says Brandon Thiel, Scholarship Committee Chair. "We're proud to invest in the next generation of leaders who will shape the future of corn production in Missouri."

High school seniors from Missouri farms or rural areas, planning to major in agronomy or a related field at a Missouri college, can cultivate their dreams with scholarship funds applied to their freshman year.

College juniors facing their senior year also have the chance to blossom, provided their Missouri residents are from a farm or rural area and majoring in agronomy or a related field at a Missouri four-year university. Their scholarship awards will bloom towards senior year expenses.

Ready to plant the seeds of your future? Applications are available for download at www.mocorn.org or by calling (800) 827-4181. Remember to submit your application, transcripts, and a letter of recommendation by February 16, 2024.

The Missouri Corn Scholarship Committee will carefully tend to each application, and lucky recipients will be notified by mail by April 15, 2024. Embrace this opportunity to sow your academic aspirations and reap the rewards of joining Missouri's thriving agricultural community!
