Missouri Department of Agriculture Launches 2023 Awards Program

The Missouri Department of Agriculture is inviting nominations for the prestigious Missouri Agriculture Awards, celebrating the remarkable contributions of individuals in the farming and ranching community. The awards recognize outstanding efforts in two categories: the Missouri Agriculture Education Leader Award and the Missouri Food Animal Veterinarian Award.

The Missouri Agriculture Education Leader Award seeks to honor educators and advisors who emphasize the importance of agricultural education to the state's youth, inspiring future leaders in the industry. This award recognizes teachers, advisors, and leaders in primary, secondary, and higher education, focusing on their positive impact on the upcoming generation in agriculture.

The Missouri Food Animal Veterinarian Award aims to highlight excellence in veterinary care for the large animal and food production industry. The award recipient will demonstrate expertise in surveillance for Foreign Animal Diseases (FAD) and emerging diseases, while leading innovative practices to ensure the health and well-being of large animals.

Nominations can be submitted through the online form on the Missouri Department of Agriculture's website until 5 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023. The awards serve as a testament to the dedication and hard work of those who support and promote the state's agriculture, ensuring a sustainable and thriving future.
