Missouri's corn industry gathered force yesterday in Jefferson City, with farmers, representatives, and guests attending the annual meeting and legislative day of the Missouri Corn Growers Association (MCGA).
Governor Parson Keynotes, New Board Members Elected:
The morning session at the Capitol Plaza Hotel kicked off with a keynote address by Governor Mike Parson. Members also reviewed financials, heard industry insights, and elected five new board members representing diverse regions across the state.
Legislative Advocacy and Industry Recognition:
Following the meeting, growers took to the State Capitol to directly engage with legislators, highlighting the crucial economic impact of corn and ethanol production in Missouri. MCGA Vice President Brian Lehman emphasized the importance of grassroots efforts in shaping policy, both in Jefferson City and Washington D.C.
The day also saw recognition of key industry supporters. Awards were presented to legislators, public servants, partners, and advocates who have made significant contributions to the corn and ethanol sectors.
