The Missouri Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is encouraging farmers to apply for the Organic Transition Initiative (OTI) funding. Apply by March 1, 2024, for potential funding in fiscal year 2024.
This initiative helps farmers:
- Get certified organic: Funding supports conservation practices required for organic certification.
- Grow your business: OTI helps build new markets, strengthen local food systems, and increase access to affordable food.
- Practice climate-smart agriculture: The program promotes sustainable farming methods.
- Receive financial assistance: Higher payment rates and other options are available for qualifying producers.
NRCS offers technical and financial assistance to help farmers navigate the organic transition process and address natural resource concerns. Don't delay, apply today!
For more information about NRCS programs and assistance, visit www.mo.nrcs.usda.gov or contact the NRCS service office serving your county.
