Clarissa Cauthorn, a young farmer from Missouri, was elected vice chair of the American Farm Bureau Federation's Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) Committee at their 105th Convention. This prestigious position signifies Cauthorn's dedication to agriculture and her leadership potential within the national organization.
While Missouri didn't take home any of the top YF&R competitive event awards this year, Cauthorn's election highlights the state's active involvement in supporting young agriculturalists. The YF&R program provides opportunities for young farmers and ranchers to develop their skills, network with peers, and advocate for the industry.
Cauthorn will work alongside the newly elected chair, Kevin Lussier of Florida, and secretary, Haily Sand of Wisconsin, to lead the YF&R Committee and its initiatives throughout 2024. This includes planning national events, developing educational resources, and representing the interests of young farmers and ranchers on a national level.
Cauthorn's election is a positive development for Missouri agriculture and demonstrates the state's commitment to fostering the next generation of agricultural leaders. It is anticipated that her involvement in the YF&R Committee will bring valuable resources and opportunities back to Missouri's young farmers and ranchers.
