Missouri residents with leftover or unwanted pesticides can participate in a free collection event hosted by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. The first event of the year will be held on March 9th, from 8 am to noon, at the Fisher Delta Research Center in Portageville. This program is open to both Missouri farmers and households, offering a convenient and eco-friendly way to dispose of these potentially hazardous materials.
What can you bring?
- Herbicides
- Insecticides
- Fungicides
- Rodenticides
- De-wormers
- Fly tags
- Fertilizers containing pesticides
Keep in mind there is an 8,000-pound total weight limit per participant.
What can't you bring?
- Paint
- Explosives
- Fire extinguishers
- Yard waste
- Electronics
- Trash
- Commercial pesticides (from businesses, production facilities, distributors, or retailers)
This free collection event is the first of four planned for 2024. Missouri residents can visit the Department of Natural Resources website for details on upcoming events in Montgomery City, Mount Vernon, and Carrollton. Taking advantage of these collection days helps ensure safe disposal of pesticides and protects Missouri's environment.
