Missouri residents with leftover or unwanted pesticides can participate in a free collection event hosted by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. The first event of the year will be held on March 9th, from 8 am to noon, at the Fisher Delta Research Center in Portageville. This program is open to both Missouri farmers and households, offering a convenient and eco-friendly way to dispose of these potentially hazardous materials.

What can you bring?

  • Herbicides
  • Insecticides
  • Fungicides
  • Rodenticides
  • De-wormers
  • Fly tags
  • Fertilizers containing pesticides

Keep in mind there is an 8,000-pound total weight limit per participant.

What can't you bring?

  • Paint
  • Explosives
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Yard waste
  • Electronics
  • Trash
  • Commercial pesticides (from businesses, production facilities, distributors, or retailers)

This free collection event is the first of four planned for 2024.
