The University of Missouri Extension will host the annual MU Crop Conference on January 30 at the Miner Convention Center, located at 2610 E. Malone Ave., Miner, Missouri.
This free event offers a wealth of research-based insights for producers, consultants, agricultural industry professionals, and government partners.
Anthony Ohmes, MU Extension field specialist in agronomy, stated that the conference aims to provide valuable information on field crops, with the program running from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Two breakout sessions are planned, addressing the diverse crop landscape in southeastern Missouri.
Experts including Chase Floyd, Bradley Wilson, and Justin Calhoun from MU Extension, along with Zachary Treadway from the University of Arkansas Extension, will present on the latest research developments in cotton and peanuts.
Another session will highlight advancements in soybean and corn research, featuring state soybean specialist Andre Reis, plant pathologist Mandy Bish, and agronomist Justin Calhoun.
Gurbir Singh of the MU Greenley Memorial Research Center will provide an update on the use of drones in cover crop and nutrient management research. Additionally, agricultural business specialist Randy Stephens will deliver a market update.
