Do you enjoy deer hunting or simply watching Missouri’s white-tailed deer? The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is offering an opportunity to learn more about deer management and efforts to keep the state’s deer population healthy.
MDC will host a Wild Webcast on Deer Management on Monday, September 29, from 6-7 p.m. The online session is open to hunters, landowners, wildlife enthusiasts, and anyone interested in Missouri’s deer population.
The webcast will highlight important updates for the upcoming hunting season, including details on new deer regulations. Participants will also hear about MDC’s long-term management plan for the next decade, focusing on sustaining healthy deer numbers while addressing conservation challenges.
In addition, experts will provide the latest information on chronic wasting disease (CWD) and epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD), two major health concerns affecting deer.
MDC staff will discuss how they are working alongside hunters, landowners, and conservation partners to monitor and manage these issues effectively.
Those interested can register in advance at MDC’s registration link. Participants are encouraged to join the webcast live at 6 p.m. on September 29.
MDC is also hosting community open houses statewide to further discuss deer management. Learn more at mdc.mo.gov.
