Learn how to value your land

Learn how to value your land

By Blake Jackson

Join the MU Extension for an interactive seminar on agricultural lease arrangements, land values, and custom work rates. This session, part of the Farm Management: On My Own program, offers participants an opportunity to understand the key elements of agricultural leases and how to estimate land values and rates.

This event is particularly beneficial for female landowners and farm operators, though all interested individuals are welcome. The seminar focuses on essential components of agricultural leases, including the different types of lease arrangements, and guides participants in determining the monetary value of leasing and owning agricultural land. Additionally, attendees will learn how to estimate the average rates for various custom farm activities such as land clearing and baling.

The program is designed to be informal and participant-driven, providing a learner-focused environment where individuals can gain valuable knowledge and network with others. Sessions will be held across various locations and online, including in-person meetings at California City Hall in Morgan County on January 21, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The cost of attending is $15. For registration, participants can call the County Office at 573-378-5358 or register online.

Don't miss out on this chance to expand your understanding of agricultural leases and land management.
