Missouri Corn and Soybean Harvests Ahead of Average



There were 5.1 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending Sunday. Temperatures last week averaged 58.4 degrees, 8.6 degrees above normal. Precipitation averaged 1.69 inches, 0.51 inches above normal. Topsoil moisture supply rated 8 percent very short, 37 percent short, and 55 percent adequate. Subsoil moisture supply rated 22 percent very short, 38 percent short, and 40 percent adequate.

Corn harvested was 90 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 86 percent.

Soybeans harvested was 86 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 70 percent.

Cotton harvested was 92 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 75 percent.

Winter wheat planted was 83 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 69 percent. Winter wheat emerged was 57 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 49. Winter wheat condition rated 1 percent very poor, 10 percent poor, 31 percent fair, 53 percent good, and 5 percent excellent.
