Additionally, commodity marketing volumes influenced these indexes. In June, there was an uptick in the marketing of wheat, grapes, hay, and peaches, while strawberries, cattle, market eggs, and broilers saw reduced marketing volumes.

For Missouri, the June 2024 prices for major crops and livestock compared to previous months were as follows: Corn was priced at $4.53 per bushel, down from $6.62 in June 2023 but up from $4.61 in May 2024. Hay, all types, was priced at $141.00 per ton, slightly up from $136.00 in June 2023 but consistent with May 2024.

Nationally, June 2024 prices showed similar trends, with corn priced at $4.48 per bushel, down from $6.49 a year ago, while hay, all types, was at $179.00 per ton, up from $234.00 in June 2023.

Other commodities like soybeans and wheat also reflected fluctuations in their respective markets, influenced by both price changes and marketing volumes.
