Missouri dairy expo - winter blues to farm boost

By Blake Jackson

As winter settles in, Missouri dairy producers might be feeling the chill of routine and the pressure of tight margins. But on February 9th, Missouri Dairy is offering a warm escape – the 4th annual Dairy Expo! This event, held at the Oasis Hotel & Conference Center in Springfield, Missouri, alongside Missouri Dairy's annual meeting, promises to ignite your farm's potential with a spark of knowledge and inspiration.

"This year's Expo is packed with expert insights," says Reagan Bluel, Educational Director for Missouri Dairy. "With three simultaneous breakout sessions and a diverse array of exhibitors, there's something valuable for everyone."

Bluel, a champion for farm efficiency, understands that every operation has its unique path to prosperity. "Profitability can bloom in many ways," she explains, "and these are topics I've seen make a real difference."

Dive into sessions covering dairy farm outlook and policy, drought-resistant forages for your herd, navigating the future of the culled cow market, mastering sire selection for optimal genetics, securing a smooth farm succession, and exploring the benefits of forward contracting.

But the knowledge doesn't stop there. Gain firsthand wisdom from three Missouri dairymen who will share how a farm consultant and/or nutritionist has transformed their operations.

"This Expo is your chance to grab actionable nuggets of information," says Bluel. "Take them home, plant them in your farm, and watch them blossom into real-world improvements."

While dairy producers attend for free, dairy supporters are encouraged to show their backing with a $25.00 contribution at the door. To learn more or pre-register attendance to the 2024 Missouri Dairy Expo please visit MODairy.org or call (417) 772-4231.
