Missouri Winter Wheat Emergence Ahead of Average



There were 5.1 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending Sunday. Temperatures last week averaged 29.3 degrees, 15.5 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 0.24 inches, 0.63 inches below normal. Topsoil moisture supply rated 12 percent very short, 31 percent short, and 57 percent adequate. Subsoil moisture supply rated 22 percent very short, 36 percent short, and 42 percent adequate.

Corn harvested was 96 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 94 percent.

Soybeans harvested was 95 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 88 percent.

Cotton harvested was 97 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 92 percent.

Winter wheat planted was 97 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 89 percent. Winter wheat emerged was 83 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 74. Winter wheat condition rated 2 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 34 percent fair, 54 percent good, and 4 percent excellent.
