Koch Agronomic Services (KAS) has made OPTRIENT MoCo Ni available for a broader set of U.S. crops, extending its use from fruit and nut trees to many row and specialty systems. The goal is straightforward: deliver plant available micronutrients directly to the leaf surface so crops can use nitrogen more efficiently and handle stress with greater resilience.
“As yield goals continue to increase, micronutrients, in addition to macronutrients, play an even more important role in crop management,” said Greg Hunter, vice president of global sales at KAS. “Growers need products that are not only effective but also easy to use. That’s where OPTRIENT formulations can be impactful.”
OPTRIENT MoCo Ni is a liquid foliar that supplies molybdenum, cobalt, and nickel. Together, these micronutrients support the enzymes that drive nitrogen assimilation, helping plants convert nitrogen into growth. The formulation is ready to use and designed for broad tank mix compatibility with nutrients, fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides, giving applicators flexibility to fit it into regular passes.
The OPTRIENT portfolio also includes NITAMIN, a 30 0 0 foliar fertilizer with 60% slow release nitrogen. Its low salt index and low ammonia and biuret levels make it suitable for direct leaf application, enabling rapid absorption and a reliable green up.
Benefits across OPTRIENT products include targeted foliar nutrition, quick uptake, and programs that enhance nitrogen use efficiency. In 2024 field trials, OPTRIENT MoCo Ni increased cotton lint by about 100 pounds per acre and boosted split nut percentage in pistachios by up to 11% versus untreated areas, indicating meaningful potential for stronger yield outcomes when micronutrients complement macronutrient plans.
As yields climb, micronutrients become increasingly important in crop nutrition. By expanding OPTRIENT MoCo Ni to additional crops, KAS aims to help growers meet performance targets with practical, effective tools.
