The Wright County Ag Conference, hosted by the University of Missouri Extension, will be held on Friday, February 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Mountain Grove Senior Center, located at 700 E. State St., Mountain Grove.
“This conference aims to equip livestock producers with knowledge on how to recover and prepare for the best forage growth going into spring as well as tips on preparing their cattle herd for spring breeding,” said Chloe Collins, MU Extension field specialist in dairy.
The event will feature insights from MU Extension experts. Elizabeth Picking, MU Extension field specialist in livestock, will focus on spring reproductive management strategies for cattle herds.
Terry Halleran, MU Extension field specialist in agronomy, will share strategies for improving pasture conditions for the upcoming spring season.
Collins will also provide valuable advice on how to evaluate pasture lameness in cattle as the growing season approaches.
Registration for the event is $25, which includes a meal. To register, participants must sign up by Monday, February 3, either by calling the MU Extension Center in Wright County at 417-349-4134 or by visiting the event registration page at https://extension.missouri.edu/events/wright-county-ag-conference.
“As sponsorships are made available, the cost will be reduced or eliminated; refunds will be made as appropriate,” said Collins.
