FFA members from across Missouri gathered at the Missouri State Fair to showcase their projects. For some, it was their first time as an FFA member, while for others, it was their last.
Brylee Williams, a Princeton FFA member, is showing her crossbred market barrow for the last time. She has been showing sheep and hogs at the Missouri State Fair since she was 2 years old.
"The most rewarding part is the opportunity to meet a lot of people from Missouri and out of state," Williams said. "I have made a lot of connections, and that has helped me."
Bella Baker, a freshman at Atlanta FFA, is competing in her first year of FFA. She entered about 25 projects at the state fair, two of which earned Reserve Grand Champion honors.
"I'm proud of my projects," Baker said. "This is a really big deal for me as a freshman."
While Baker is new to FFA, she is no stranger to the Missouri State Fair.
"I was here even before I was born," she said. "I love it. I like being in the FFA, meeting people and networking with others from around the state who have similar interests as mine."
The Missouri State Fair is a great opportunity for FFA members to showcase their hard work and dedication. It is also a chance to make new friends and learn from others.
