The 105th American Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City this week (January 19-24) promises a whirlwind of activity for Missouri Farm Bureau (MOFB) members. From showcasing county initiatives to cheering on young farm stars, Missouri will be well-represented in this national gathering of agriculture's finest.
Cape Girardeau and Webster counties take center stage with their innovative county activities programs, earning recognition in the prestigious AFBF County Activities of Excellence program. The Cape Girardeau Farm Bureau's "Choo Choose Agriculture" program, bringing Agriculture in the Classroom lessons aboard a moving train, will captivate attendees at their booth. Webster County's "Southwest Shindig," a fellowship event connecting farmers with local leaders and featuring a lively "Pie Off" contest, will also be on display.
Missouri's young farmers are set to shine on the national stage as well. Kyla and Dustin Estes, winners of the state's Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) Excellence in Agriculture Award, will compete for the coveted national title, vying for a chance at a $35,000 Ford truck. Hala Edquist of Wright County, armed with her victory in Missouri's YF&R Discussion Meet, will take the national stage to showcase her public speaking skills.
MOFB is proud to support these young stars and county Farm Bureaus, underwriting their travel expenses to Salt Lake City. The 105th AFBF Annual Meeting promises to be a powerhouse of workshops, contests, and a bustling trade show, culminating in the crucial business session where delegates like MOFB representatives vote on national Farm Bureau policy.
In the heart of this fast-paced convention, MOFB members are excited to connect with fellow farmers and navigate the "new frontiers" shaping the future of agriculture. With its diverse perspectives and unwavering unity, Missouri Farm Bureau is ready to make its voice heard on the national stage.
