Producers in northeastern Missouri can participate in the MU Extension Crop and Forage Chat, a free event scheduled for August 11. Held at the Shawn Kiefaber/Kenny Lovelace Farm, the event will offer crop and forage updates from University of Missouri (MU) Extension specialists.
A lineup of experts, including MU Extension plant pathologist Mandy Bish, agronomists Nick Wesslak and Rusty Lee, state veterinary toxicologist Tim Evans, state nitrogen specialist John Lory, and agriculture systems technology specialist Charlie Ellis, will present on various topics.
The discussions will cover agricultural research at MU, crop diseases, and results from MU's Certified Strip Trial Program. Additionally, strategies for addressing drought concerns and mitigation will be shared with attendees.
The event does not require registration, and producers can head to the farm location 1 mile west of Palmyra, off U.S. 61 on County Road 318. In case of rain, the event will be moved to the fairgrounds livestock barn at Flower City Park, Palmyra.
Providing shade and water for attendees, the event encourages participants to bring their lawn chairs for comfort.
Sponsored by the Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council and MU Integrated Pest Management, the Crop and Forage Chat promises valuable insights and updates for producers in the region.
