The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) has released its 2024/2025 Corn Export Cargo Quality Report, showing that U.S. corn exports meet or exceed U.S. No. 2 grade across all factors. This annual report helps buyers understand the quality of American corn as it enters global markets.
The findings are based on 425 yellow corn samples gathered from shipments undergoing inspection by the Federal Grain Inspection Service (FGIS) and other certified inspectors. This export cargo report complements the earlier 2024/2025 Corn Harvest Quality Report, giving a complete picture of crop quality from farm to export.
Favourable weather conditions during the growing season led to one of the highest projected corn yields on record. Dry, warm conditions in September and October helped farmers complete harvests on time, preserving crop quality.
Test weight averaged 58.3 pounds per bushel, higher than last year and the five-year average. Broken corn and foreign material were recorded at just 2.5 percent, also better than the five-year average. All tested samples were within safe levels for aflatoxins and deoxynivalenol as per the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
“It’s difficult to understate the role of transparency in building trust between business partners, and the Council seeks to make detailed, accurate information about the quality of U.S. corn available to buyers around the world and facilitate international trade,” said Verity Ulibarri, USGC chairwoman.
The Council's eight global offices will share these results through crop quality seminars to ensure that international buyers understand the consistency and quality of U.S. corn this marketing year.
